What is the lead time for the pre-ordered shirts?
Right now, we're looking at anywhere from 16-20 weeks for production. Our goal is to make this shorter and shorter as we grow.
What makes the premium RIS shirts better than other more well known activewear brands (we won't name names)?
Well, the vast majority of these brands' activewear shirts, wicking shirts, and so forth, are made from 80-90+% Polyester. Petroleum and Plastic. When you say you're putting Petroleum and Plastic fabric on your skin, that doesn't sound so good, does it? The recycled plastic is a good effort to get rid of bottles, but it's still plastic on your skin.
Our Seacell shirts are made from Cellulose (an organic polymer consisting of a long chain of glucose units that forms the main structural component of plant cell walls) and Seaweed. The Seaweed holds properties of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. We think having that on your skin would be much better than plastic.
What happens if we put the Seacell shirts in the dryer?
When we put the 100% Seacell shirt in the dryer at medium heat, it SHRUNK by about a size. This is why we made the shirts oversized. If you put it in the dryer by mistake, you should still have a good fit. What was once baggy on you, will probably fit like a standard size shirt.
Your 100% Seacell shirt is just a long sleeve shirt, why is it so expensive?
It is expensive. But you're getting what you pay for. You're spending almost the same price for other brand's shirts which is just polyester. Ours is a specialty product. As far as we know, our shirt is one of a kind. It's been custom made specifically for RIS, which was a long process in itself. The 100% Seacell fabric is not used in many garments world-wide. Many Seacell shirts and clothing are different blends with only a small percentage of Seacell fabric used.
Your 20% Seacell shirt has 80% Organic Cotton in it, why is it so expensive?
Again, adding the Seacell fibers makes it more costly to produce. Even though it's easier to find a Seacell blend of clothes out there, there still aren't many, making it a specialty item...and still better than your more well known polyester shirts.
